There’s no denying that Cailyn & Mitchell prayed for this day; after meeting at Camp Dixie as counselors six years ago, they spent the better part of their relationship long distance. Mitchell lived in Indiana and Cailyn was here in North Carolina, so their first date and many that followed started in airports – and it was at the RDU airport, where they shared their first kiss, that Mitchell proposed to the girl of his dreams. He moved to NC shortly after, where the two started planning their wedding and building a life together. When they saw each other for their first look on May 18, 2019, Mitchell prayed with his soon-to-be bride that, no matter what happened that day, they focus on the fact that their dreams were coming true, they would be husband and wife, and that they would always put Christ at the center of their relationship.

Cailyn & Mitchell tied the knot at The Paisley Barn in Benson, NC; the venue was a surprise find for the couple, who aren’t big fans of rustic venues but adored how The Paisley Barn is super modern while still in view of a horse pasture and pond. With white flowers, lanterns and greenery, the venue was dressed up simply and elegantly. Floral arrangements at the front and back of the ceremony space were the perfect touch for their outdoor ceremony, which was officiated by Mitchell’s childhood youth pastor who was also the couple’s premarital counselor. A friend of the bride was the ceremony musician, performing two original songs for the processional and bridal march, and the couple was surrounded by 14 loving bridal attendants and 80 guests as they said their vows and shared a sand commitment ceremony.

Cocktail and reception were a relaxed affair; since all the bridal party and family photos happened before the ceremony, everyone was able to relax and spend time with guests until they were officially introduced to the reception. The couple shared a sweet first dance to “Close Your Eyes” by Michael Buble, immediately followed by parent dances and toasts. Afterwards, Cailyn’s mom blessed the food, the couple cut the bundt cake, and the party was open to dancing while guests were invited to grab a burger from the food truck for dinner. The evening was full of dancing and laughter, with a very relaxed atmosphere as guests roamed around the venue and congratulated the couple. With a bouquet and garter toss to round out the events of the evening, the couple had guests gather around as they danced their last dance of the night before saying goodnight.
