After living in the Raleigh area for a decade, Stephanie & Matt Milosh moved to Sparta, NC in January 2024. While we continue to plan weddings and events across North Carolina and beyond, we are excited to focus our energy in our new area.

Beauty & the Budget Events offers wedding, event, and celebration planning. Whether you’re hosting an intimate elopement or a large wedding, a birthday party or baby shower, a holiday event or family gathering, we have you covered! From vendor recommendations and design guidance to timeline creation and day-of management, we take care of the nitty-gritty parts of event planning so you can focus on the celebration! We welcome destination weddings and locals alike and encourage you to discover the beauty of events in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Beauty & the Budget Events has a studio space in the Smithey’s Building in downtown Sparta, at 38 S Main St, Sparta NC, conveniently located just 7 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stop by to say hi and start planning your wedding or celebration! We’re in studio on Tues – Friday, from 10 am – 4 pm.


Beauty & the Budget Events continues to offer full service and partial service wedding planning across NC, particularly in the Raleigh-market, with limited coordination dates available. We prioritize wedding coordination in Alleghany County, Ashe County, Surry County, and Wilkes County. We provide custom pricing for non-wedding events, so you only pay for the help you need when booking Beauty & the Budget Events for your celebrations.

Venues We Love in Alleghany, Ashe, Surry, and Wilkes Counties

Alleghany County – Sparta, NC

A mountain-top wedding venue with beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the New River. This venue has the capacity for up to 200 guests, offers indoor and outdoor spaces, and includes tables, chairs, and decor options!

Surry County – Dobson, NC

This working family farm and event venue features a 10,000 sq ft rustic barn with climate control, a one-of-a-kind outdoor chapel showcasing breathtaking views, and a lovely pond. This wedding and event venue has the capacity for up to 200 guests, provides tables, chairs, and decor options, and has a beautiful 1940s farmhouse available for lodging.

Wilkes County – Purlear, NC

An event venue and vacation center located one mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway, there is no shortage of spectacular views at Sky Retreat. Along with outdoor ceremony sites for a beautiful backdrop, the venue features a 6,500 sq ft event hall with high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, dressing suits, a large fireplace, and a wall of windows so you can always enjoy the views. The venue also features a covered veranda, waterfall garden, a stone paver pad, and more. 14 log cabins make this a perfect destination venue to celebrate with friends and family

Surry County – Mt Airy, NC

This 70-acre vineyard and wedding venue includes a rustic-modern barn for receptions, along with gorgeous views of the vineyard, mountains, and river from the outdoor ceremony locations and covered terrace. The barn can accommodate up to 200 guests, offers tables, chairs, and dinnerware, and provides a decor closet for couples to use. An on-site cottage is available for the couple to stay the night, as well as a separate bridal suite to start your day. 

Surry County – State Road, NC

A beautiful white barn venue, patio, silo bar, and veranda provide multiple gorgeous settings for your special celebration. The venue features soft views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, tables, chairs and place settings, and a decor closet to make decorating a breeze. The venue also includes a two private suites for the couple and wedding party to get ready

Surry County – Low Gap, NC

This venue in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains features 83 acres of beautiful landscape and gorgeous views, not only of the mountains but a lovely weeping willow tree that’s frequently used as a ceremony backdrop. The modern 4,800 sq ft reception hall seats up to 275 guests, and the venue also features a renovated farm house available for getting ready and overnight lodgings for 15. Rentals include tables, chairs, and access to the decor closet.

Wilkes County – Hays, NC

This minimalist venue is a beautiful 4- acre property featuring a meticulously maintained lawn with a large custom gazebo as the focal point for wedding ceremonies, along with beautiful mountain and creek views. One of the venue owners is an ordained reverend who is happy to officiate your marriage, or you can hire your own officiant. The venue accommodates up to 50 guests and provides a tent for receptions, along with simple decor, tables, and chairs.

Surry County – Dobson, NC

This restored farmhouse functions as a VRBO vacation rental and event venue, perfect for the couple and guests who are traveling to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains for a special celebration. Nestled on 400 acres of private property, this event venue includes use of the house for getting ready, lovely fields for the ceremony, an event barn for receptions, and a decor inventory.

Ashe County – West Jefferson, NC

A sophisticated and elegant wedding venue that primarily focuses on destination weddings. The 90-acre property features ponds, gardens, a handicap-accessible modern barn with chandeliers, covered cocktail patio, and scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and New River, as well as separate getting-ready spaces. The venue accommodates up to 185 guests, table and chairs are included in the rental fee, and on-site overnight accommodations are available for up to 12 guests.
